Artists Statement

Concert

Unes, Voix de Basse arose from a meeting with Jean Pierre Robert, instrumentalist and author of a work on contrabass playing styles. The tape part, with which the player is in constant relationship in terms of sound, is conceived as a unique instrument in its own right. The instrumentalist draws upon the colours of the tape for the sound materials of the live instrument. The piece functions either as a mixed piece with tape, or employs digital sequences triggered by the player.
