Artist Statement

The Zenotrope devices or modules consist of an electric motor, a liquid crystal display screen, housing, and wire supports. The kinetic motion that these devices produce is to spin the liquid crystal display screen at various rates. (Sponsored by Sony, Australian Film Commision, ANAT, College of Fine Arts.)

• Dennis Michael Wilcox (Australia) has a Post Graduate Diploma from the Sydney College of the Arts at the University of Sydney and a Master of Fine Arts from College of Fine Arts from the University of New South Wales. He has exhibited in Australia, namely at TISEA and published the following papers: Visual Orientation in Cinema and Occularcentralism in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction.
