  • Tamás Ungváry (b. 1936) was a Hungarian-Swedish composer in the field of computer and electro-acoustic music. His compositions have been performed all over the world, including at the Warsaw Autumn, Zagreb Biennial, Vienna Modern, Inventionen in Berlin and Nordic Music Days festivals. Notable works include S É U L (1972), Basic Barrier (1973), Traum des Einsamen (1975), L’aube des Flammes (1985) and Grattis (1995). Tamás Ungváry began his career as a conductor. He worked as a teacher and artistic director at the Foundation for Electroacoustic Music in Sweden (now Elektronmusikstudion – EMS). In 1985, together with choreographer Peter Rajka, he founded the research group Kineto Auditory Communication Research, KACOR, at the Royal Institute of Dance (later KTH), focussing on artistic/technical communication in various computer systems.
