ISEA2022 Barcelona, 27th International Symposium on Electronic Art. 10 — 18 June 2022

ISEA, the International Symposium on Electronic Art, is one of the major annual events in the world in the field of the intersection between art, design, science, technology and society. After more than ten years without being held in Europe, ISEA2022 lands in Barcelona to reinforce the city’s leadership in scientific research and production, intellectuality and cultural creativity both in the national and international context.
Promoted by UOC with the collaboration of CCCB, Santa Mònica, NewArtFoundation, the new Hub of Art, Science and Technology Hac Te, MACBA, Ajuntament de Barcelona, the Ministry of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Institut Ramon Llull, ISEA2022 Barcelona invites to contribute in the growing debate about our world of ‘Possibles’, not only exploring the future to be built but also opening the doors of the past and the present.
Most of these activities will take place at the CCCB, which will play host to paper and poster presentations, panels, screenings and demos every. These sessions will address current issues such as the creative capacity of artificial intelligence, the possibilities of immersive experiences, the imaginary of biotechnologies in the arts, the predictive potential of machines, new ways of managing our heritage and milestones in human-robot communication. To top things off, the CCCB will host activities for the general public.
Complementing this program, the CCCB will offer four keynote speeches (Christl Baur, Joan Fontcuberta, Olga Goriunova and Ricard Solé), a series of workshops and performances open to the public, and also the presentation of the project Geo-Llum» by Samira Benini Allaouat. One of the highlights is “DïaloG”, a large-scale interactive installation by Refik Anadol and Maurice Benayoun in Plaça Joan Coromines.
