Artists Statement

June 10-16, CosmoCaixa, Barcelona. ISEA2022 Extended Programme

Collection of three of the projections presented at the CosmoCaixa planetarium within the NEO program from Fundació La Caixa. NEO is a project that brings together different scientific and technological disciplines to approach today’s great challenges through the most innovative artistic forms and practices.

From June 10 to 16, CosmoCaixa will offer the following consecutive projections on the planetarium:

-HINTER by Alba Corral. In this piece, the artist creates music through his alter ego, Namba, to present a work of hypermedia poetry. It is named after the German artist, mathematician, architect and painter Hans Hinterreiter, an expert in geometry and the study of color and patterns, visualizes dream space and marine worlds. In Hinter 2021, immersive language experimentation follows its course and adds a sound layer. Made using 3D tools such as Unity and Blender, it also uses the Processing tool to create textures in real time.

-ONIONLAB’S PARADOXA – Paradoxa is a temporary journey where travelers are trapped in a loop of events that predestine them to continue traveling in time. This immersive audiovisual piece makes us reflect on the uncertainty of the future. Time travel has always been a fascinating issue from the point of view of science fiction, logic, physics or even philosophy. Paradoxa visuals consist of complex structures, imaginary spaces, and time machines that help transport the audience on a journey of experiences and sensations.

-RADICAL COMPROMISE by Daniel Červenka, Signal Production and Planetum (Prague Planetarium).

Radical Compromise is a 360° dome projection film, created as a part of the 2020 Signal Festival. The film deals with the issues of the European energy sector in the context of the global environmental crisis by taking a closer look at the fossil fuel and mineral extraction industry. The primary focus is on brown coal, extracted in large open-pit mines in the northern part of the Czech Republic. https://www.danielcervenka.com/radical-compromise
