[ISEA2014] Workshop: Chadi Salama – IT LOOKS LIKE A BOOK

Workshop Statement

This workshop is about book art as a part of Contemporary Art, and how an artist can combine general art skills and obtained knowledge (Digital Art, Drawing, 3D Art) to make a unique piece of art work with multiple points of view. Participants in this workshop will make a digital book, print it and learn how to bind it.

  • Chadi Adib Salama, Visual arts, Cairo, Egypt. Born in 1980, Chadi Salama has lived and worked in Cairo as an artist in various capacities. Chadi has organized and curated art events since 1999. He received his M.A. specializing in Design Studies in 2009 and He is Assistant Professor in Design Art Department department at the Faculty of Art Education, Helwan University. Salama obtained his BA Honors from the same faculty in 2002. Salama has participated in various exhibitions amongst which are the XIV Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean in Macedonia in 2009. Salama is the recipient of various awards, amongst which are two grand prizes in the 18th and 19th Youth Salons in 2007 and 2008 respectively.    mobilityhubafrica.org/en/artists/502
