Introductory Statement

Montréal has the great honour of playing host this year to the 6th International Symposium on Electronic Art ond we are truly proud of this fact.

This prestigious event brings together artists ond specialists from around the world and in so doing offers us the exceptional opportunity to see, hear and touch the material of which the most avant-garde artistic achievements are made. Art and technology have always been linked and they are closer today than ever before. Indeed, the Symposium progrom clearly testifies to this fact.

I would like to thank ond congratulate the organizers of the Symposium for having created a range of high quality activities and having brought together so many leading artists ond specialists. I am convinced that this Symposium will be a major success.
