Artist Statement

These three pieces are computer-generated compositions realized at the Brooklyn College Center Computer Music directed by Charles Dodge.

• Jose Halac (Argentina)  An instrumental and electroacoustic music composer born in Cordoba (Argentina) he combines western technology influences with the folk and popular musics of his North Argentinean Eastern / Jewish background, with the, power of rythmic groove. He has won the National Endowment for the Arts grants and the 1994 Phonos Foundation grant (Spain) in 1994, three ASCAP awards, and, this year, the Antorchas Foundation grant (Argentina). Last year, he released his first compact disc, Illegal Edge reviewed very favorably in Fanfare and Option magazines, among others.
