Artist Statement

This animation is based on a representation of the data structure that comprises the music: one “sees” the music as one hears it. The piece has its basis in the idea of exploring a set of ratios through synthetic and natural sound. The timbres of the piece are composed without regard for the referentiality of the recorded material but rather with a strictness in relation to the ratios. The first part is realised through synthesis only, with the introduction of natural sound in the middle of the piece.

• Joran Rudi (Norway) was born in 1954. He works as a composer of computer music for concerts, film, video, and installations. His works have been performed across Europe and the USA.
