Curators Statement

The annual festival for electronic art “Ars Electronica” in Linz, Austria, is represented by a collection of work by recent prize winners in the computer graphics and computer animation categories. The festival has been organised since 1979, and has, in the course of the years, developed into one of the most important forums for electronic – and computer art. For the 1990 AE Prize winners, see archive.aec.at/prix and click 1990.

Also on show is a special selection of students work of the French ‘Institut National de l’Audiovisuel’ (INA). Above that, during the Film & Video Show, a retrospective will be shown of prize winners of the annual “Imagina” festival, that is organized by INA.
