Artists Statement

Preshow and Main Show. The figure of Robocop reappears in a ride adventure for Iwerks’ Turbo Tour Theaters not directly based on any of the three Robocop feature films.

• Ubbe Eert “Ub” Iwerks, (1901-1971) was an American animator, cartoonist, character designer, inventor, and special effects technician, who created Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Mickey Mouse. The works Iwerks produced alongside Disney went on to win numerous awards, including multiple Academy Awards. Animator Chuck Jones, who worked for Iwerks’ studio in his youth, said “Iwerks is Screwy [Skrewi] spelled backwards.” [source Wikipedia].
