Artist Statement

Video (2015)

In this work the artist corrupts digital data to mimic her own noisy, dreamlike visions. This draws parallels between the glitches of machines and the mental experience of humans.

• Marchien Veen is an interdisciplinary artist working in a variety of media including textiles, digital art, drawing, installation, and sound. Her practice focuses on process and healing through futile labour and prolonged repetition. She received her BFA in Visual Art from the University of British Columbia, Canada.
