How engaging is your smile? Come and find out! Hye Yeon Nam sets out to “foster positive audience behaviors” with this interactive work – how do you think you will relate to her robots?!

  • Hye Yeon Nam (Korea/US) is a digital media artist working on interactive installations, performance video, speculative design and experimental games. She foregrounds the complexity of social relationships by making the familiar strange, and interpreting everyday behaviors in performative ways. She has exhibited extensively in the USA and internationally, including in the Smithsonians National Portrait Gallery, Washington D.C. (2011-2012), Times Square (2009), Eyebeam and The Tank, the conflux, D.U.M.B.O. Art Festival, New York (2009), FILE (2011, 2012), SIGGRAPH (2008, 2010), CHI (2010, 2012), ISEA (2011), E3 Expo (2011), the Lab in San Francisco, and has participated in festivals around the world.
